59th National Award Winners

The winners of 59th National Awards for Film was announced on 7th March 2012 in New Delhi.The Best actor award is bagged by Girish Kulkani for the Marathi flick Deool while the award for best female lead went to Vidya Balan. The Best feature film of the year is shared by ‘Devur’ (Marathi) & ‘Byari’ (Kannada). The Tamil Mafia flick Aranya Kandam won two awards for Best Editing and Best Debut film by a Director.Synonymous to the previous year,the best supporting actor went to Tamil , Appu Kutty for Azhagar Samiyin Kuthirai. The following are the list of awards in major categories. Being from a nation obsessed with Entertainment, obviously my first post on IndianDragon is on Cinemas. Even India’s identity to certain parts of the world still remains through Bollywood and its no lesser counterparts from South.        Moving on , this post is not on commercial Indain Cinema or its fantasies it revolve around but rather an intuition into how we missed some of the great film makers or scintillating works from rest of the world. One such artist is Akira Kurosawa of Japan. Akira had the style of choosing plots for his movies from his own backyard or the Japan’s historic samurais.
