Asia cup begins – The battle for the Best Subcontinent team

Asia Cup Begins! The 11th edition of Asia cup is all set to entertain us with some much anticipated happenings. The tournament will happen in Dhaka, Bangladesh with Pakistan taking on Bangladesh in the first encounter today. It’s going to be the battle for the best team in the sub-continent. Bangladesh gotta point to prove Bangladesh has been tagged as an upcoming team for quite a long period. In fact they made their first international appearance in 1997. The fan support that the Bangladesh has got is tremendous. Their hero’s have give them a reason to be proud of every now and then beating Australia, India etc.. but one must say they haven’t lived up to their promise.  The likes of Shakib, Tamim and Rahim should click if Bangladesh will have to stand a chance. The interesting addition will be Masrafe Mortaza who returns to the international arena after a while. Will this be the tournament that will transform Bangladesh into a more formidable team. Could well be! India desperate for...

Luke Wright joins Pune Warriors

Luke wright, the hard hitting allrounder from Sussex is all set to join the Pune Warriors for this IPL season 5. Wright with a T20 strike rate of 145 in domestic matches coupled with an average of 25 makes him a very good pick for the Pune Warriors. It is to be noted that Luke Wright scored a t20 Ton for the Melbourne stars during the Big bash league. With Yuvraj Singh out of IPL 5  and other franchises rejecting Pune’s plea for 5 foreign players and with Jesse Ryder’s in disciplinary behaviour, Pune hopes that their latest pick takes them the distance. Mean while Luke Wright has got the following to say on his selection. Twitter: Delighted to be going to IPL with Pune Warriors. Rahul Dravid to retire

Rahul Dravid to retire

Rahul Dravid – A true cricketer Rahul Dravid is likely to announce his retirement on Friday, has called a press conference in Bangalore that will also be attended by N Srinivasan. In what is a shocking announcement made by ‘The Wall’ everyone seems to be puzzled with the question why now? With England scheduled to tour us in the later part of the year, in which can be called the most important tour in Indian cricket one expects our best warrior to fight for one last time and leave the arena gracefully. The recent form though in Australia was a bit of concern as he got bowled up again and again by the Aussie pacers inswingers. Is that the main reason for Dravid to call it quits...
