Pre Release Hype : The number of action stars roped in for the next instalment of Expendables makes the first one look like a child’s play. Even Chuck Norris has a part in this movie, this shows that the director has decided no american action star over the past five decades have been left out in this movie. Unlike the previous movie which was written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, this one is directed by Simon West of Con Air fame.

Post Release Review : As with all Sylvester Stallone’s films, this one isn’t an exception to comical gory action but is sheer fun to watch so many action stars which I have loved watching them in their individual movies over my child hood.

The movie starts with expendables rescuing Arnie from Nepal and Jet Li jumping of mid air giving a hint that its the last of him in the Expendables franchise. Jean-Claude Van Damme is the antagonist in the movie, playing a russian mafia boss who steals the soviet era plutonium and yes the expendables is sent to retrieve it with a personal touch of vengeance.

It is good to see Van Damme to do his trademark  180 kick in a movie after so many years, he till has a great physique !! With so many action stars it is only customary to have one liner’s from their Hit’s, For example : Arnie’s ‘I am Back’, Even Chuck Norris gets pawned when Stallone takes up his famous ‘King Cobra bites Chuck Norris ‘ joke .

The movie is fast phased, though some times you feel congested with too many action heroes nevertheless it holds you in your seats till the end of the movie.

Conclusion : If you want your/ or your dad’s child hood heroes kick some A** for one last time, then you should watch it. But do not expect a brilliant screenplay like in Avenger’s, this is just a movie for blood splattering action lovers.

Rating : It gets three dragons from me.
