Microsoft funded company aims to kill Torrents

Russian startup ‘Pirate Pay’ aims to destroy piracy by Torrents by killing
the BitTorrent Traffic. With funding from Microsoft Russia, the developers have developed a system which claims to track and shutdown the distribution of copyrighted works on BitTorrent.

They demonstrated the effectiveness of their system on their first project, carried out with collaboration with Walt Disney Studios and Sony Pictures, successfully stopped tens of thousands of downloads of their fim ‘Vysotsky’.
Hollywood studios are ready to spend millions on this kind of technology as they claim Billions in revenue are lost each year due to Torrents.
