Breaking: Earthquake felt in South India!

Earthquake epicenter at Banda Aceh of Indonesia

An earthquake of 8.9 has been reported by Indonesia’s GeoPhysical agency, off the west coast of northern Sumatra in Indonesia. Tsunami warning has been issued by the agency as well. 


Last known major earthquake felt was in Dec 26 2004, killing nearly 250,000.


The tremors has been felt in southern parts of India as well. 


Update : It has been confirmed that the Earthquake is of 8.7 Richter scale


Update: Tsunami warning has been issued in Southern India and in Andaman Islands


Update : No casualities reported in Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata
