High Five!!!! – Top five Kollywood movies you could watch out for in 2012.

1. Kochadaiyaan

Superstar Thalaivar Rajinikanth will return with Kochadaiyaan, which will be the directorial debut of his daughter Soundarya Ashwin Rajnikanth. Deepika Padukone has been roped in to shake her legs with thalaivar. Co-produced by Eros International and Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited, KS Ravikumar has written the story, screenplay and dialogue and he will also be the directorial supervisor for Kochadaiyaan. Known as a high tech 3D movie, technology matching with that of James Cameron‘s Avatar and Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin is used for this movie. Expected to be released in August 2012, this movie will be a real feast for the world.

2. Viswaroopam

As always, Kamal’s movies are maintained far away from media. Yet media had managed to sneak out some info. Ordered by its reliability, his daughter Akshara Haasan will be working as Assistant director with her big daddy directing the movie. The female cast of the movie is still a vacillating one with at least half a dozen of Bollywood actress being approached already. Reported as a costliest movie (for the whopping 150 Crore) ever in Indian history, we can expect our Ulaga Nayagan to release the movie in late 2012 if not sooner. The movie is to be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.

3. Billa -II
A man, who never cares about success or failure of his movies (Of course, on a lighter note), will be back with a bang after the Mankatha’s success in a prequel to the super hit Billa (2007). With a policy on similar lines to “One Family, One child”, Thala has a policy of “One Year, One movie”. Directed by Chakri Toleti, music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, this film has an ensemble cast with a few difficult to pronounce names like Bruna Abdullah, Vidyut Jamwal and Sudhanshu Pandey. Expected to be on screen on the eve of star’s birthday, this will be a festival for Thala fans.

4. Thuppaaki

Riding on a hat trick hits, Ilaya Thalapathy is working in an action thriller with director A.R.Murugadoss. Paired with Kajal agarwal, Vijay acts as an encounter specialist and popular actor Jayaram being offered a meaty role. The movie is also expected to go on floors for the star’s birthday i.e. by June ‘2012. Harris Jayaraj is scoring the music for this film.

5. Maatraan

Surya pairs up with Kajal agarwal and K.V.Anand is wielding the megaphone for this Action -Thriller project. Story is written by Subha and music being composed by Harris Jayaraj. Expectations amass on the Ayan crew and we believe the movie will fulfil them easily in the month of May/June 2012 as the movie is set to be released then.

Also watch out for: In addition to these, most expected releases are Kolaveri man Dhanush starrer “3”, Karthi starrer “Saguni” and Selvaraghavan directing Arya starrer “Erandam ulagam”. All is well here and Kollywood is sustaining its positive vibes..!!!
